The battery capacity test is performed to determine the health of a battery. DV Power’s battery load unit BLU-A is a portable, powerful and lightweight\n solution for battery capacity measurement. It is applicable to any battery string such as lead-acid, Li-Ion, Ni-Cd, etc., with up to 300V battery\n voltage. As a special feature, the BLU100L model enables capacity testing of a single Li-Ion cell.
\n
The capacity test is performed in an accurate and user-friendly way. Also, it is in accordance with battery testing standards: IEEE 450-2010, IEEE\n 1188-2005, IEEE 1106-2015, IEC 60896-11/22, and other relevant standards.
\n
Battery load unit BLU-A enables setting discharge currents up to 240 A, with a resolution 0,1 A. Furthermore, if higher currents are required, BLU-A\n units can be connected in parallel, or additional BXL-A load units can be used.
\n
The instrument offers the best power-to-weight ratio in the market. BLU-A models start from 12,8 kg / 28.2 lbs and deliver up to 28,4 kW of power.
\n
The user can select three discharge modes: Constant current, Constant power, Constant resistance. Additionally, different battery duty cycles can be\n simulated using user-selectable discharge profiles.
\n
The instrument monitors discharge parameters in real-time during the capacity test. A 4,3-inch touch screen display shows battery voltage, current,\n elapsed time and capacity during the entire test. Also, BLU-A battery load unit can be used with DV-B Win software.\n As a result of that, a user can see a detailed numerical and graphical presentation of key parameters and can create reports in various formats.
\n
Testing with BLU-A doesn’t require disconnection of the battery from the testing equipment.
\n
Overview of the maximal currents for BLU-A models (BLU100A, BLU200A, BLU340A) for various battery voltage ranges can be found in the brochure for BLU-A\n series.

BXL is an extra load unit designed to be used with DV Power’s BLU series battery testers. However, this unit is a universal add-on device. Because of that, it is compatible, as an additional load, with any other discharge/capacity tester in the market.\n
\n
In case when discharge current exceeds the capacity of a single BLU device, BXL can increase the discharge capacity. There are no limitations on the\n number of extra load units that can be connected in parallel to the main battery tester.
\n
A system of BLU and BXL instruments enables performing the capacity test in an accurate, user-friendly way. Also, all instruments are in accordance\n with battery testing standards: IEEE 450-2010, IEEE 1188-2005, IEEE 1106-2015, IEC 60896-11/22, and other relevant standards.
\n
These units can be used on any type of battery string, such as lead-acid, Li-Ion, Ni-Cd, etc. They test battery strings with voltages in the range\n of 5,25 – 500 V DC. On the other hand, current up to 250 A can be discharged through the BXL internal structure.
\n
The instrument simulates a constant resistance load during the discharge test. Several resistances can be set for different battery nominal voltage\n levels. This makes BXL extremely flexible in selecting its load capabilities.
DV Power battery voltage supervisor – BVS, is an accurate battery voltage monitoring system which determines the state of health of battery systems. It monitors important battery parameters such as battery voltage\n , inter-cell connection voltage, and ambient temperature. Because of that, it can be a support tool for capacity testing.
\n
The BVS voltage supervisor is an integrated system consisting of:
\n
\n
BVS Control Unit (BVS-CU)
\n
Cell Voltage Modules (CVM)
\n
String Voltage Module (SVM) (optional)
\n
String Current Module (SCM) (optional)
\n
\n
It is an ideal testing tool for maintenance, troubleshooting and performance tests on individual stationary batteries and battery packs in critical\n backup energy solutions.
\n
BVS-CU provides ambient temperature measurements on multiple locations (4 temperature channels). Overall string voltage and string current monitoring\n can be achieved by using an optional string voltage module (SVM) and string current module (SCM).
\n
CVM modules detect cells that fail a discharge test based on monitored voltage values. As a result of that, these cells can be safely removed from\n the battery string.
\n
Data acquisition and analysis of data collected from the modules are available in the \n DV-B Win application software suite. They provide data viewing, tracking, and generation of comprehensive reports.
